BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Thank you for choosing to stay at The Rufus House. Prior to your booking please read our terms and conditions. Once you have booked your stay, you are entering into a legal contract with The Rufus House based upon you have read and accepted our Terms & Conditions specified hereunder.
TERMS OF BUSINESS
All rates include VAT (excluding some corporate clients) and are subject to change without notice. All charges will be made in GBP.
For children over the age of 6 and under 10, we can provide an extra Z bed in our Family Room. An extra bed is £20 per room per night.
Bottles of water and soft drinks consumed from non-alcohol mini-bar, landline telephone calls, flowers, cakes, chocolate, and any additional items requested will be charged as taken.
DEPOSITS, CANCELLATION AND NO SHOWS
Current Direct Booking Terms & Conditions
To secure a reservation we charge a non-refundable deposit of £50.00 for each room booked. For cancellations made up to 7 days before your check-in date you will not be liable for the total balance. For cancellations made after this time you will be liable for the total amount, however all efforts will be made to re-let the cancelled accommodation in order to minimise charges.
In supporting your travel plans during this difficult period, we have updated our policy as follows:
- If you have an existing booking with us and have paid a deposit, you can postpone your stay for up to 12 months.
- For any existing and new reservations arriving before 31st October 2020, can be cancelled up to 24 hours prior to arrival without further charge. You can use paid deposit for your future stay with us (up to 12 months).
- If you need to adjust a reservation made through our booking agent, please contact them directly for assistance.
All direct booking room rates include VAT and subject to change without notice.
Our opening hours are 7:30am to 12noon in the morning, and 4pm to 8pm. On your arrival date, after 8pm we will assume that you are not arriving on the date.
In addition, curtailment of stay after arrival, the Guest will be liable for payment of the full amount.
We accept payment by debit card or cash only (As for Deposit to secure the reservation, we accept debit card or credit card excluding AMEX). We do not accept cheques.
We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, however if this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you without administration fee. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
RESCHEDULING YOUR BOOKING
If you need to move your booking, we will be happy to assist to reschedule your booking. This service is subject to availability.
CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT
Your accommodation will be available to you from 4pm on the day of arrival, to 10:30am on the departure day.
Between 4pm and 8pm, unless otherwise arranged in advance.
Our check out time is 10.30am. Late check-out is available with prior agreement.
- Until 11:30am, additional cost of £10.00
- Until 12:30pm, additional cost is £20.00
- Thereafter, a full day room rate would apply.
- We are happy to store bags for those traveling by train.
♠ Your bill for the accommodation and any extras or services taken during your stay is payable upon departure.
Breakfast is served from 8am and our last order time is 9am (Saturday and Sunday mornings, 9:15am). We have a social distancing policy for guests safely, all our guests are kindly requested to use the table nominated for the room.
For early breakfast, please let uk know in advance. We can prepare light packed breakfast for you.
We operate a non-smoking policy throughout the building and grounds.
This is also a condition of our insurance. From 1st of July 2007 it is illegal to smoke inside a public and confined space. This includes bedrooms and grounds in case smoke drifts up into the rooms around. There is a smoking area just outside of the dining room.
If anyone smokes in a room, or damages a room in such a way that it affects the next person coming into that room, we reserve the right to charge all the costs for resetting the fire alarm, relocating the next guests, cleaning rooms or any other costs associated with such action.
Unfortunately we do not accommodate children under the age of 6.
Pets are not permitted inside of the building.
While we would do all we could to ensure that guests’ belongings are safe and secure at all times, we cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage to guests’ property or injury to any member of your party in the building, car park and grounds.
Occasionally guests cause damage during their stay, breakages or damages such as leaving red wine, coffee, and other stains on the bed linen or carpets. Please report these as soon as they occur.
We do not normally charge for minor breakages or damages, but we reserve the right to charge for any cleaning or replacement costs.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
We have steps around the house and there is one step down to the ground floor toilet, so please mind your steps. Room 9, our Twin Room has restricted head room, so please mind your head.
The Rufus House intends to operate a maximum of 50% occupancy rate for the time being which would provide enough space for your safety. This grand Victorian House would enable us to implement required social distancing by local and industry regulations.
Social distancing will be observed in all public area including dining room. Masks and hand sanitisers will be made available in guest bedrooms and sanitiser will be available on your arrival. Your kind co-operation for frequent hand washing would be most appreciated.
Our team members will sanitise all surfaces and touch points on a regular basis.
Please keep entrance doors closed at all times. From time to time, we will open front and rear doors for ventilation purposes.
